Listowel Fair Donation towards Hospital Emergency Department

Recently the Listowel Agricultural Society made a donation to the Listowel Memorial Hospital. The donation comes as a result of the successful 2022 Listowel Agricultural Fair, held July 14-17, 2022 at the Listowel Fairgrounds. The $10,000 donation will be put towards the purchase of a Crash Cart and a Slit Lamp, both items of which will be used in the Emergency Department of the hospital.

“After not being able to host an in-person fair since 2019, the community truly supported this year’s fair with record attendance each day,” said Ag Society President, Elizabeth Johnston. “Because of the community’s support and the success of the fair, the Listowel Agricultural Society wanted to give back to the community.”

Weather conditions for this year’s fair were almost perfect with great weather each day. The grandstands were full for shows, events in the in-field, Ag Hall and in tents were well attended and the midway was a busy spot all weekend. It took the help of a large number of volunteers from the community to make the fair a successful event.

Plans are already underway for the 167th Listowel Agricultural Fair to be held July 13-16, 2023.
